My First Visit
In November 2019, my friend Muyiwa invited me to a meeting at Café One, located in Lekki. At the time, I was already working remotely and using another workspace. But when I saw Café One, I thought, “This is cool.” So, I started going there regularly.
Building Connections That Last
Through Café One, I met a friend named Seye, and we ended up working on several projects together. Eventually, I hired Seye to build a project, and through him, I met one of my lead engineers at Ninthgrid. This co-working space has been more than just a place to work, it’s where I’ve built meaningful connections. Opportunities Through Community
After leaving my role at Samsung, I landed a remote gig paying in USD, all thanks to someone I met at Café One. That opportunity lasted for a while, and during that time, I started dabbling in stock photography. I would randomly strike up conversations with strangers, and one day, I met Ihuoma, who allowed me to take her picture for a project. That was the spark that led me to upload images to Unsplash, eventually planting the seed for what Ninthgrid is today.

The power of collaboration and simply saying hello, has opened so many doors for me. Kudos to Café One for being such a great hub of innovation, and shoutout to Roseline Nkanta, Adatugo Oyebanji, and Kelechi Nwaozuzu, MBA, who are amazing leaders I had the privilege of working with during their time as general managers there. And a big shoutout to Obinna Ukachukwu and his team for this incredible innovation.
